singapore is the port of the world.. literally...
we get things which are ironically cheaper than the country of
origin.. sort of like people come home from Australia with
shitloads of nougat are disgusted to find out that the same brand
and make is cheaper here.. same with chocolate...
and lots of other things..
it stems from the factories sending it direct to the ports and
shipping it here.. over in their home country, they will need to
send the stuff overland, incurring transportation costs and also
their high taxes...
so when people ask you to buy stuff when you go overseas, tell
them to look for it in the shops here.. chances are really high
that the stuff is cheaper here
I always laugh when ppl go to Oz to buy the same brand
chocolates we get here and nougats.
I mean seriously what's the pt when it's so much cheaper
here.
